Applications
The SLDX9 was designed for professional analogue CCTV installations in the late 1990s and early 2000s — an era when multiplexers were the standard way to connect multiple cameras to a single time-lapse or real-time VCR. Duplex multiplexers like this one were favoured in retail, commercial, and light industrial security systems because they allowed continuous live monitoring on one monitor while a separate recording stream went to the VCR simultaneously. The 16-way display and alarm input capacity made the SLDX9 suitable for larger camera arrays than a typical 9-input unit, and the telemetry control port enabled integration with PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera controllers. These units are still sought after as spare or replacement components in legacy analogue CCTV systems that have not yet been migrated to digital or IP-based recording.
This Dedicated Micros SLDX9 Sprite Lite Duplex Multiplexer has been inspected and is in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was in active use. The chassis shows light surface wear consistent with normal installed use. The front-panel buttons and controls appear intact, and the rear BNC connectors are present and undamaged.
