Description
Dayton 5K280C 1/4 HP Split Phase Motor LeAnCo G6-36-R14 Ventilating Exhauster
This Dayton 5K280C is a single-phase split phase induction motor paired with a LeAnCo, Inc. G6-36-R14 squirrel cage ventilating exhauster, all mounted on a steel plate as a complete unit. The motor drives the exhauster directly, making this a self-contained ventilation and exhaust assembly ready for ducted installation.

Applications
Split phase motors of this type are widely used to drive small blowers, fans, and exhaust units in light industrial and commercial ventilation applications. The squirrel cage centrifugal exhauster moves air through ductwork and is commonly used for fume exhaust, equipment cooling, grain bin ventilation, livestock building ventilation, and similar low-to-medium-pressure air-moving tasks. The 1/4 HP, 1725 RPM rating suits continuous-duty ventilation service. LeAnCo ventilating exhausters were a regional Midwest manufacturer's product commonly found in agricultural and light industrial settings from the mid-twentieth century onward. This type of direct-drive motor-and-blower assembly mounts into a wall or partition and connects to ductwork through its discharge tube for rooftop or wall exhaust applications.
This Dayton 5K280C Split Phase Motor with LeAnCo G6-36-R14 squirrel cage ventilating exhauster has not been powered up or tested at our facility, but was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. The unit shows significant cosmetic wear consistent with industrial use: heavy surface rust on the steel mounting plate and exhauster discharge tube, paint loss and peeling on the blower housing, and general grime throughout. The Dayton motor itself appears structurally intact with its nameplate legible and power leads intact (bare wire ends). The blower wheel is visible through the discharge opening. This unit is sold as-is in the condition shown. Please review all photos carefully and contact us with any questions before purchasing.
