Description
CTI Cryogenics Type B Helium Cryopump Compressor Adsorber 9600/8500/8510/8200/SC
The CTI Cryogenics Type B Compressor Adsorber is a service/maintenance component used in CTI helium cryopump compressor systems. Adsorbers trap oil vapor and other contaminants from the helium gas stream inside the compressor, protecting the cryopump cold head and maintaining system performance. This is a cylindrical canister-style adsorber with a bolted mounting flange base and two 3/4" self-sealing quick-disconnect couplings for connection to the compressor supply and return lines.

Applications
CTI Cryogenics (now part of Brooks Automation / Agilent Technologies) helium cryopump systems are widely used in semiconductor fabrication, physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), ion implantation, and other high-vacuum process equipment. The compressor adsorber is a scheduled-replacement maintenance item in these systems — it adsorbs compressor oil and moisture from the helium refrigerant loop, and replacement is typically performed at specified compressor-hour intervals to maintain clean helium gas circulation. This Type B adsorber is the correct service part for the CTI 9600, 8500, 8510, 8200, and SC series compressors found in fabs, research labs, and vacuum coating systems worldwide. The self-sealing couplings allow the adsorber to be swapped without venting the helium charge from the system, simplifying the replacement procedure.
This CTI Cryogenics Type B Cryopump Compressor Adsorber is in good used condition. The unit shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with prior service use. A label on the body records that this adsorber was installed in April 2009 at 59,580 compressor hours — useful service history for buyers evaluating its remaining life. The painted cylindrical canister and mounting flange show no visible damage, and both 3/4" self-sealing couplings appear intact and undamaged.
