Description

Aeroquip 5400-S5-8 Braided Cryogenic Compressor Line 14 ft 1.25" Female

The Aeroquip 5400-S5-8 is a 14-foot flexible cryogenic compressor supply line constructed with a stainless steel braided outer jacket for durability and resistance to the extreme low-temperature environments typical of cryogenic systems. Both ends terminate in 1.25" female swivel fittings with o-ring face seals, providing secure, leak-resistant connections to compressor and coldhead ports.

Applications

Cryogenic compressor lines like the Aeroquip 5400-S5-8 are used to connect the compressor unit to the coldhead in closed-cycle cryocooler systems — most commonly found in research and laboratory environments running equipment such as cryostats, dilution refrigerators, MRI magnets, SQUID systems, and other low-temperature scientific instruments. Aeroquip-style braided cryo lines are a standard interconnect in systems using Gifford-McMahon (GM) or pulse-tube cryocoolers, where high-pressure helium gas is circulated between the compressor and the expander head. The stainless braided construction handles the high-pressure helium supply and return lines while remaining flexible enough for routing in lab installations. These lines are commonly used with compressors and coldheads from manufacturers such as Sumitomo, Leybold, CTI-Cryogenics, and Janis Research, where standard Aeroquip-compatible fittings are widely used.

Condition: Used
This Aeroquip 5400-S5-8 braided cryogenic compressor line has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The stainless steel braiding is intact along the full length, and both 1.25" female swivel fittings show normal wear with o-rings present and in place. The line has been coiled and stored; typical light surface scuffing may be present on the fittings. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
