The CRP L-207-B is a custom-built light box exposure chamber manufactured by CRP ("Solutions. Pure and Simple."), based in Ronkonkoma, NY. The chamber features a stainless steel enclosure with an amber/orange-filtered fluorescent lighting system and incandescent side-wall illumination, designed to provide controlled light exposure conditions for photographic plates, film, or similar light-sensitive materials. Eight external cooling fans manage heat buildup during operation. The unit mounts on a dedicated white metal table stand that is included with the sale.

Applications

Light box exposure chambers of this type are used in photographic and photomechanical processes where controlled, filtered light must be applied to light-sensitive materials such as printing plates, film positives, screen printing films, or photoresist substrates. The amber/orange filter on the fluorescent tubes provides safelight-compatible illumination, preventing premature exposure of UV-sensitive materials while the operator works. External cooling fans prevent heat buildup that could distort or damage sensitive materials during extended exposure sessions. CRP produced custom chambers primarily for printing, pre-press, and specialty photographic applications. This type of equipment was common in commercial print shops, pre-press trade shops, and screen printing facilities from the 1980s through the early 2000s, when analog plate-making processes were standard. Some specialty and analog photography operations continue to use this type of equipment today.
