Applications
The Modem Blaster DI5660/3660 is a late-1990s ISA internal modem from Creative Labs, the same company known for the Sound Blaster line of audio cards. ISA modems of this generation were standard equipment in desktop PCs running Windows 95, 98, and early Windows 2000, providing dial-up internet access and fax transmission over POTS (plain old telephone service) lines. The V.90 standard it supports was the last major dial-up protocol before broadband displaced dial-up as the dominant internet access method in the early 2000s. ISA slots were phased out of mainstream motherboards around 2000–2001 as PCI became the universal standard, making ISA modems like this a legacy item today. They remain relevant for industrial PC systems, CNC machines, legacy point-of-sale terminals, and vintage computer restoration projects that still use ISA-bus motherboards — particularly older PC/AT-compatible systems and 486/Pentium-era builds where a phone-line modem or fax capability is required.
This Creative Labs Modem Blaster DI5660/3660 ISA fax modem card is in used condition. The card itself is present and shows normal wear consistent with prior installation in a desktop PC. The faceplate (rear bracket cover) is missing, and the mounting bracket is also absent, so this is a bare PCB only. The green board appears clean with no visible damage to components, traces, or connectors. The two RJ-11 jacks and the ISA edge connector look intact.
