Description
Computone 3-01325 ATvantage H 8-Port RJ11 ISA Async Serial Multiport Card 1988
The Computone 3-01325 is an 8-port asynchronous serial multiport expansion card for ISA-bus PCs, part of Computone's ATvantage H product line. It provides eight RJ11 telephone-interface ports through a standard ISA bracket, allowing a PC to simultaneously manage multiple serial connections — most commonly analog modems, serial terminals, or dial-up access lines. The board carries firmware version 3.02 and was manufactured by Computone Systems Inc. in the USA in 1988.

Applications
The Computone ATvantage H series was designed for PC-based multi-user and communications server applications in the late 1980s and early 1990s. ISA multiport serial cards like this one were widely used in dial-up bulletin board systems (BBS), remote access servers, and multi-user DOS or Unix/Xenix environments where a single PC needed to drive multiple serial devices or modem lines simultaneously. The eight RJ11 ports allowed direct connection to standard telephone lines via modems, making it a practical solution for small-scale dial-up access concentrators. Computone was a notable vendor in this space, competing with DigiBoard, Arnet, and Chase Research. This card dates from the ISA-bus era — before PCI became standard in the mid-1990s — and today it is primarily sought by collectors restoring period-correct BBS or multi-user systems, or by operators maintaining legacy ISA-bus industrial PCs that still rely on this hardware.
This Computone 3-01325 ATvantage H 8-Port RJ11 ISA serial multiport card has been visually inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The PCB is clean with no visible cracked traces, burnt components, or physical damage. The 8 RJ11 ports on the bracket appear intact and undamaged. Normal handling wear is present consistent with a card previously installed in a system. This card has not been powered up or tested at our facility, but was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use.
