Applications
QIC tape drives were used for data backup and archival storage on desktop and server systems throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. These drives connected via SCSI interface and supported various QIC tape cartridge formats. The Colorado Stingray line was compatible with systems running Windows, DOS, and Unix-based operating systems.

Physically, the unit appears to be in reasonable cosmetic shape; the drive housing and front bezel show typical wear consistent with its vintage, and the PCB (board revision 036-250 REV A1, HTM ICT-2500 REV A1) is intact and visually undamaged with no obvious broken components observed. The rear SCSI edge connector is present. This item is suitable for parts harvesting, repair attempts, or as a display/collection piece.
