Applications
The Circle WMC cordless PBX system is a small-office and home-office telephone solution from the early-to-mid 2000s, when 5.8 GHz DECT-predecessor cordless technology was a popular alternative to 2.4 GHz systems due to reduced interference with Wi-Fi networks. The main console connects to standard POTS (plain old telephone service) lines and acts as the base station and switching hub for a multi-handset cordless phone network, allowing multiple users to share outside lines. The DB9 computer interface port allowed optional integration with PC-based call management or auto-attendant software. This type of system was commonly used in small offices, home offices, and small retail environments that needed multi-line capability without the cost and complexity of a full enterprise PBX.
