Description
Chatillon DPP-2 2 Lb x.02 Lb Push/Pull Force Gauge on Stainless Rail Assembly
The Chatillon DPP-2 is a mechanical dial-type force gauge designed to measure both tension (pull) and compression (push) forces up to 2 pounds, with a fine resolution of 0.02 Lb per graduation. This unit is mounted on a custom stainless steel sliding rail assembly that holds the gauge in a horizontal orientation and allows a test specimen or component to be positioned and engaged with the gauge probe for repeatable force measurements.

Applications
Chatillon dial force gauges are standard instruments in quality control, manufacturing, and laboratory settings wherever small push or pull forces need to be measured accurately. The DPP-2 model, with its 2 Lb capacity and 0.02 Lb resolution, is well suited for measuring connector insertion and extraction forces, switch actuation forces, spring tension, pen or stylus force, wire pull-out force, and similar light-duty force verification tasks. Mounted on the included rail assembly, the gauge can be used as a simple bench-top force test stand, holding the gauge steady while a component is driven against the probe — useful in electronics assembly QC, medical device component testing, military connector acceptance testing, and precision mechanical inspection. Chatillon (now part of the Ametek Test & Simulation division) has manufactured mechanical and digital force gauges for industrial and laboratory use for decades; the DPP series dial gauges represent their classic analogue line and remain in use wherever a simple, calibratable mechanical force measurement is needed.
This Chatillon DPP-2 Push/Pull Force Gauge and stainless rail assembly has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The dial face is clean and legible, the gauge housing shows only minor cosmetic wear typical of used lab equipment, and the stainless steel base and carriage components are free of significant damage. The assembly was pulled from a working environment where it had been previously in use. It has not been powered up or bench-tested at our facility.
