Applications

The Canon PIXMA iP1500 is a consumer-grade inkjet printer aimed at home and small-office use, released in the early-to-mid 2000s as part of Canon's PIXMA line. It is suited for printing standard documents, school materials, and 4x6 borderless photographs at home. The FINE print head system was Canon's answer to competing photo-quality inkjet technologies of the era, using tiny 2-picoliter droplets to produce smoother gradients and sharper text than earlier large-droplet inkjet designs. The iP1500 connects via USB and works with both Windows and Mac, making it broadly compatible with systems of that generation. Replacement BCI-24 ink cartridges are still available through various suppliers, which keeps the printer usable for those maintaining older setups or looking for an inexpensive secondary printer.
