Applications
The Cabletron Smartswitch 9000 (also marketed as the MMAC Plus) was Cabletron Systems' flagship modular enterprise chassis switch of the mid-to-late 1990s. It was widely deployed in large campus networks and enterprise data centers as a high-density, hot-swappable switching platform supporting Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, and ATM modules in a single chassis. The 9C206-1 power supply slots into the 9C106 chassis and provides the regulated multi-rail DC power that the switching and routing modules require. The front-panel redundancy LED supports configurations where a second power supply operates in parallel for fault tolerance — a common design in mission-critical installations.
