Applications
The Cabletron SS 9000 SmartSwitch was a high-density modular chassis switch aimed at enterprise campus and data center backbone networks in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The 9G429-02 module added Gigabit Ethernet uplink or server-attach capacity to the SS 9000, connecting to fiber-based network segments or high-speed servers over single-mode fiber runs.
