PS/2 to AT Keyboard Adapter Cable Mini-DIN 6-Pin Female to DIN 5-Pin Male

This is a short PS/2 to AT keyboard adapter cable that converts a PS/2 Mini-DIN 6-pin female connector to a DIN 5-pin male (AT-style) connector. It allows a PS/2 keyboard to be connected to older motherboards and systems that use the larger 5-pin DIN AT keyboard port.

Applications

The AT keyboard interface was the standard on IBM PC/AT and compatible systems from the mid-1980s through the early 1990s, using a large 5-pin DIN connector. When Intel and PC manufacturers transitioned to the smaller Mini-DIN 6-pin PS/2 connector in the early 1990s — popularized by IBM's PS/2 line — a large installed base of AT-style keyboards and motherboards remained in service. This adapter bridges the two generations, letting a PS/2 keyboard plug into an older AT-port motherboard. It is still used today for maintaining or servicing vintage IBM PC/AT-compatible systems, older industrial computers, and legacy equipment that retains the 5-pin DIN keyboard port.

The cable shows light yellowing of the beige jacket typical of age, and both connectors appear clean with no bent or missing pins.
