Applications

The PC-201 printing cartridge system was used in Brother's line of personal thermal fax machines from the 1990s and early 2000s. These machines used a thermal transfer ribbon housed in a cartridge to print fax pages and copies onto plain paper. When the ribbon in the PC-201 cartridge was exhausted, it could be reloaded with PC-204RF refill rolls rather than replacing the entire cartridge — a cost-effective approach that was common on Brother's consumer and small-office fax machines of that era. These refill rolls are primarily sought by users still operating one of the compatible Brother fax models listed above.
