Description

Bessel Low Pass Filter 12.0 MHz 5 Pole 50 Ohm BNC RF Signal Filtering Lab

A 5-pole Bessel low pass filter with a 12.0 MHz cutoff frequency and 50 ohm in/out impedance. The Bessel topology provides maximally flat group delay (linear phase response), making it the preferred choice when preserving the shape of waveforms passing through the filter matters as much as the amplitude rolloff. The unit is housed in a rugged teal metal enclosure with panel-mount flanges and terminated with BNC female connectors on both input and output ends.

Specifications & What's Included

  • Filter type: Bessel Low Pass
  • Cutoff frequency: 12.0 MHz
  • Number of poles: 5
  • Impedance: 50 ohm in/out
  • Input connector: BNC female (labeled IN)
  • Output connector: BNC female (labeled OUT)
  • Enclosure: Teal/blue painted metal with mounting flanges
  • Mounting: Panel-mount flanges with bolt holes on each end
  • Label confirmed specs: 12.0 MHz Bessel Filter, 5 Pole, 50 Ohm IN/OUT, Low Pass

Applications

Bessel low pass filters are used in RF and baseband signal processing wherever linear phase response is critical — particularly in digital communications, oscilloscope probe paths, pulse and waveform research, radar test setups, and video signal conditioning. Unlike Butterworth or Chebyshev designs, the Bessel filter minimizes group delay variation across the passband, so square waves and pulsed signals pass through with minimal overshoot or ringing. A 12.0 MHz, 5-pole unit like this is well-suited for use in laboratory test benches, signal generators, spectrum analyzer front-ends, and anywhere a clean, time-domain-accurate low pass response is needed up to the low tens of megahertz. The 50 ohm impedance and BNC connectors make it compatible with standard RF bench coaxial setups.

Condition: Used
This Bessel 12.0 MHz Low Pass Filter has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The teal metal enclosure shows light surface wear and minor scuffing consistent with normal lab handling. Both BNC connectors — input and output — are present and appear undamaged. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
