Applications

The 360 Systems DigiCart II and DigiCart II-Plus were widely used in radio broadcasting throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s as digital replacements for the traditional analog tape cartridge (cart) machines that had long been standard in radio studios. The DigiCart used proprietary Bernoulli disk cartridges — derived from Iomega's Bernoulli removable disk technology — to store commercials, jingles, station IDs, and other short-form audio clips that could be cued and played on-air at the touch of a button. Each cartridge held several minutes of digital audio. Radio stations that still maintain legacy DigiCart hardware use these cartridges as the primary media for the system. Replacement cartridges are increasingly difficult to source, making used examples like this one sought after by broadcasters keeping older DigiCart machines in service.
