B&K 1076 Television Analyst Pattern Generator Vintage Tube TV Repair Test
The B&K 1076 Television Analyst is a vintage benchtop pattern generator and television service instrument built around a vacuum tube chassis. Manufactured by B&K Precision (then known as B&K Manufacturing Co.), this instrument was designed to inject test signals into television receivers to isolate and diagnose faults in video, sync, color, IF, and high-voltage circuits — without requiring a broadcast signal. It is a self-contained analog service tool from the era of vacuum tube televisions.

Applications
The B&K 1076 was a standard service bench tool used by television technicians throughout the 1950s and 1960s for diagnosing black-and-white and early color vacuum tube television sets. By injecting known test signals at specific points in the TV's signal chain — video, IF, sync, color burst — a technician could quickly isolate a failing stage without needing a working antenna signal or a separate signal generator and sweep equipment. The flyback and yoke leakage/continuity tests made it particularly useful for diagnosing high-voltage and deflection circuit failures, which were among the most common and dangerous faults in tube-era sets. Today the B&K 1076 is sought by vintage television restorers and collectors who maintain or repair tube TV sets from that period, as well as by electronics historians and hobbyists interested in mid-century service instruments. It represents the kind of all-in-one TV analyst that equipped independent repair shops during the golden age of television service.
This B&K 1076 Television Analyst Pattern Generator has been inspected and appears to be in used condition consistent with its age. The metal chassis shows general wear and surface oxidation typical of vintage bench equipment from this era. The front panel knobs, controls, and indicator lights are all present and intact. The interior vacuum tube chassis is complete with tubes, transformers, and coil assemblies visible and in place. What appears to be an original documentation insert is included. This instrument has not been powered up or tested at our facility. Please review all photos carefully and contact us with any questions before purchasing.
