Description
AVerMedia AVerKey VGA to RCA S-Video Converter Pass-Through Splitter RGB
The AVerMedia AVerKey is a compact desktop scan converter that takes a VGA RGB signal from a PC or laptop and converts it to composite RCA and S-Video output for display on a television, projector, or other video device. A second VGA port on the rear passes the signal through simultaneously to a standard VGA monitor, allowing both a computer monitor and a TV/projector to display the PC's image at the same time. No power supply is included with this unit.

Applications
VGA-to-composite scan converters like the AVerKey were a common solution in the late 1990s and early 2000s for connecting PCs to consumer televisions and video projectors, which accepted composite or S-Video signals but not VGA. They were widely used in business presentations, classrooms, and home entertainment setups where a PC needed to display on a TV screen. The S-Video output provides noticeably better image quality than composite RCA, making it the preferred output when the destination device supports it. The VGA pass-through port lets the user keep a desktop monitor connected simultaneously, so both displays are active at once — useful in presentation environments where the presenter watches the monitor while the audience views the TV or projector. While modern display connections have largely moved to HDMI and DisplayPort, these converters remain useful for connecting PCs with only VGA output to older televisions and legacy projectors still in service.
This AVerMedia AVerKey VGA to RCA / S-Video scan converter has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The unit shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with prior use. No power supply is included — please plan accordingly. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
