Applications

The Atlas Copco SF series scroll compressors are designed for applications where oil contamination of the compressed air stream is not acceptable. Scroll compressors work by using two interleaved spiral-shaped scrolls — one fixed, one orbiting — to progressively compress air without the need for oil lubrication in the compression chamber, producing inherently clean, dry air at the outlet. The SF 15's multi-core architecture (four independent heads sharing a single cabinet and controller) provides built-in redundancy: if one head requires service, the remaining heads continue operating, which is a key advantage over single-head designs in critical production environments.
