Applications

The Merlin Legend series represents AT&T's legacy business telephone platform, widely deployed throughout the 1980s and 1990s in offices, small businesses, professional services firms, and corporate call centers. These systems provided cost-effective multi-line telephone management and basic call routing before the transition to VoIP and modern IP-based systems. The 012 12-station model was ideal for smaller offices that required intercom, call hold, call transfer, and basic call management without the complexity of larger enterprise PBX systems. Today, these systems are sought after by telecommunications historians, vintage office equipment collectors, and businesses still maintaining legacy telephone infrastructure in remote locations or specialized environments where modern upgrades are not yet feasible. Original documentation and compatible handsets for the Merlin Legend platform remain valuable to users maintaining these systems.
