Description
Arrow Pneumatics AFC50-1 Air Cooled Aftercooler Heat Exchanger 250PSI 350F 115V
The Arrow Pneumatics AFC50-1 is an air cooled aftercooler heat exchanger designed to cool compressed air discharged from an air compressor before it enters the distribution system or downstream equipment. The unit uses an electric axial fan to draw ambient air across a fin-and-tube heat exchanger core, removing heat from the compressed air stream and reducing moisture carryover. It is mounted on an integral four-leg steel stand and includes a Wilkerson F30-08-000 inline filter on the copper pipe outlet.

Applications
Air cooled aftercoolers like the Arrow AFC50-1 are standard equipment in compressed air systems, installed in the discharge line between the compressor outlet and the air receiver or distribution piping. Their purpose is to reduce the temperature of the hot compressed air coming off the compressor — typically from 200–350°F discharge temperatures down toward ambient — which causes the bulk of the water vapor in the air to condense and drop out before it reaches tools, controls, or downstream processes. This protects pneumatic equipment, dryers, and piping from moisture damage and reduces the load on any refrigerant dryer downstream. The AFC50-1's floor-standing, self-contained design with an integral fan and filter makes it well suited for industrial plant air systems, machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and any application where a remote or standalone aftercooler is needed away from the compressor skid itself.
This Arrow Pneumatics AFC50-1 Air Cooled Aftercooler was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. The unit has been visually inspected and photographed. The galvanized steel housing and fan guard are intact and structurally sound. The fan blades and heat exchanger fins show dust and lint buildup from service, which is normal for this type of equipment. The top copper inlet fitting has visible rust and corrosion at the connection point and fittings. The Wilkerson F30-08-000 inline filter is present and mounted on the copper pipe.
