Applications
The Power Mac G4 tower was Apple's professional-grade desktop workstation of the early-to-mid 2000s, powered by Motorola/IBM's PowerPC G4 architecture. The dual-processor M8570 configuration was aimed at creative professionals — graphic designers, video editors, and audio producers — who needed maximum throughput from Classic and early Mac OS X applications. The PowerPC 7455 (also known as the G4 Apollo) was the last widely used G4 revision before Apple transitioned to the G5 and, later, Intel processors.
