Applications
The Power Mac G4 line was Apple's professional desktop platform from 1999 through 2004, built around Motorola/IBM's PowerPC G4 processor. The G4's AltiVec "Velocity Engine" SIMD unit made it popular for media-intensive work including video editing, graphic design, audio production, and scientific computing in the early 2000s. The M8570 (867 MHz single-processor model, introduced in 2002) runs Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and is compatible with a wide range of Classic Mac OS and early OS X software. Today these machines are sought by vintage Mac collectors, retro computing enthusiasts, users maintaining legacy Mac OS X software environments, and those running period-correct PowerPC applications. The G4 tower's tool-free interior access and expandable architecture made it a popular workstation of its era.
This Apple Power Mac G4 M8570 desktop computer has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is installed on the 80GB hard drive. The enclosure shows normal wear consistent with prior office use; the clear plastic corner handles and panels are intact as seen in the photos. The interior appears clean with all major components — hard drive, optical drive, and RAM — visibly in place. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
