Description
Apple 820-0207-A EtherTalk NuBus Network Card 2680-07 Rev K Mac II Vintage BNC
The Apple 820-0207-A is a NuBus expansion card that adds EtherTalk networking capability to Macintosh II-family computers. It connects the Mac to both ThinNet (10BASE2) coaxial networks via its BNC port and thicker Ethernet segments or AUI devices via the DB-15 port, allowing the machine to participate in AppleTalk-over-Ethernet networks. The board is marked Rev K and carries Apple Computer's 1987 copyright date on the PCB silkscreen.

Applications
The Apple 820-0207-A EtherTalk card was designed for the NuBus expansion slots found in the Macintosh II family, including the Mac II, IIx, IIcx, IIci, IIfx, and IIsi (with a NuBus adapter). It was one of Apple's own first-party solutions for connecting these machines to Ethernet in an era when LocalTalk serial networking was standard on the Mac but too slow for larger workgroups. EtherTalk allowed Macs to share files and printers with other AppleTalk-capable systems over standard 10 Mbps Ethernet cabling — both the thin coaxial (BNC/10BASE2) and the original thick Ethernet (AUI/10BASE5) topologies that were common in late-1980s and early-1990s corporate and university environments. Today these cards are sought by vintage Mac collectors and hobbyists running period-correct Macintosh II setups or maintaining classic Mac networks using System 6/7 and AppleShare.
This Apple 820-0207-A EtherTalk NuBus Network Card has been inspected and appears to be in good overall condition. The PCB and components look clean with no obvious damage; the metal bracket shows noticeable grime, oxidation, and surface wear, as seen in the photos. The card has not been powered up or tested at our facility. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
