APC AP9606 Smart Slot Web/SNMP 10Base-T Network Management Card AP9211
The APC AP9606 is a Smart Slot network management card that adds remote monitoring and management capability to compatible APC UPS systems. It plugs directly into the Smart Slot on the rear of the UPS and connects to a 10Base-T Ethernet network via RJ-45, allowing administrators to monitor UPS status, receive alerts, and manage the unit remotely through a web browser or SNMP-based network management software. The board is labeled as model AP9211 internally and carries firmware AOS aos303.bin and APP ms220.bin.

Applications
The AP9606 is designed for APC Smart-UPS and Symmetra UPS models equipped with a Smart Slot expansion bay — a proprietary slot APC introduced in the mid-to-late 1990s to allow add-in management and connectivity modules. By inserting this card, a UPS that would otherwise require a dedicated serial or USB connection for monitoring can instead be managed entirely over the LAN. IT and facilities staff use these cards in data centers, server rooms, and telecom closets to integrate the UPS into existing SNMP network management platforms such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, or similar NMS tools, as well as to access the built-in web interface for status and event logging without needing to be physically present at the unit. The AP9606 is one of APC's earlier web/SNMP Smart Slot cards and dates from the late 1990s era, predating the later AP9617/AP9618/AP9619 generation. It remains useful as a direct replacement part for older APC UPS installations that are still in service.
This APC AP9606 Smart Slot Web/SNMP Network Management Card has been pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility. The card appears to be in good condition cosmetically — the faceplate and PCB show typical handling wear consistent with prior installation and removal.
