Fiber optic converter for IEEE 802.5 Token Ring networks. Converts between fiber optic ST connectors and copper RJ-45 twisted pair connections, enabling integration of Token Ring devices across fiber and copper media.

Applications

Token Ring converters were used in enterprise networks from the 1980s through early 2000s to extend network reach via fiber optic cable while maintaining compatibility with existing copper Token Ring infrastructure. These devices connected mainframe environments, legacy workstations, and network hubs across building campuses or data centers. Compatible with IEEE 802.5 Token Ring networks and devices supporting standard Token Ring frame formats.
