This is a dual ion pump power supply unit housing two 5kV negative high voltage modules in a single rack-mount enclosure. It supplies and controls ion pumps used in vacuum systems for electron microscopy equipment.

Applications

Ion pump power supplies operate turbo-molecular pump stations in scanning electron microscopes (SEM) and transmission electron microscopes (TEM). These units maintain ultra-high vacuum conditions necessary for electron beam operation. The Amray 124-002 was standard support equipment in electron microscopy labs throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Control via DB-9 interface allowed integration with microscope control systems.

This Amray 124-002 Dual Ion Pump Power Supply has been inspected and appears to be in good condition. It was pulled from a working electron microscope environment where it was in active use. Both modules are present in the rack case. The exterior shows normal wear consistent with lab use; the panels and labels are intact and legible.
