Description
American Dynamics AD1473 QuadView II 4-Channel Video Quad Multiplexer 120V
The American Dynamics AD1473 QuadView II is a 4-channel video quad multiplexer designed for security and surveillance applications. It digitally captures video from up to four standard video sources, reduces each to quarter-screen size, and combines them into a single composite quad display on one output. A second output provides full-screen call-up of any individual input for closer viewing. Front-panel pushbuttons allow selection of individual channels or the full quad view, with Freeze, Run, and Alarm function controls.

Applications
The AD1473 QuadView II was designed for closed-circuit television (CCTV) security and surveillance installations, where operators needed to monitor multiple camera feeds simultaneously on a single monitor. Quad multiplexers like this one were a standard component of analog CCTV systems from the late 1980s through the early 2000s, found in retail, commercial, industrial, and institutional security control rooms. The dual-output design allowed a single monitor to show the combined quad view while a second monitor or VCR could record individual full-screen camera feeds on call. American Dynamics was a well-established name in the commercial security video market during this era. This type of equipment has largely been superseded by digital video recorders (DVRs) and IP-based camera systems, but units like this remain in use in legacy analog CCTV installations that have not yet been upgraded.
This American Dynamics AD1473 QuadView II 4-Channel Video Multiplexer is being sold as-is for parts or repair.
