The Alps DFC642B09A is a half-height 5.25" internal floppy disk drive capable of reading and writing 1.2MB high-density (HD) floppy disks, as well as 360KB double-density (DD) disks. It connects via a standard 34-pin floppy ribbon cable and draws power from a 4-pin Molex connector, making it a direct-fit replacement for most IBM-compatible desktop PCs of the era.

Applications

The 5.25" 1.2MB floppy drive was the standard high-density drive format for IBM PC AT and compatible systems throughout the mid-1980s to early 1990s.
