Applications
Two-stage rotary vane vacuum pumps like the Alcatel 3004 are workhorses in laboratory, research, and light industrial settings where medium-vacuum levels in the 10⁻² torr range are needed. They are commonly used as backing pumps for turbomolecular and diffusion pumps in high-vacuum systems, and as standalone rough-vacuum sources for freeze dryers, vacuum ovens, vacuum coating systems, electron microscopes, mass spectrometers, and semiconductor processing equipment. Alcatel (later Adixen, now part of Pfeiffer Vacuum) manufactured rotary vane pumps from the mid-20th century onward, and the 3004 series was widely adopted in university and industrial labs during the 1980s and 1990s. The KF 25 flange standard remains in common use today, so this pump connects directly to modern NW25 fittings and components without adapters. The dual-voltage Baldor motor allows wiring for either 208–230V or 460V three-phase supply, giving flexibility in different facility environments.
This Alcatel 3004 Two-Stage Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. The orange finned pump body is intact and shows normal wear consistent with lab or industrial use. The attached Baldor three-phase motor is present and shows no obvious damage.
