The Alcatel 1004AC is a single-stage rotary vane vacuum pump driven by a 1/2 HP Franklin Electric motor. Rotary vane pumps of this type draw air through an inlet port via eccentrically mounted vanes rotating inside a close-tolerance cylinder, compressing and expelling gas to generate vacuum. The 1004AC is a compact, benchtop-sized unit with a finned aluminum pump body for passive cooling and dual top-mounted inlet/outlet fittings. The unit shown includes an attached vacuum gauge on the inlet side.
