Description
Airflow Development 40B2TX Duplex Centrifugal Blower Fan MagneTek 120/240V 2.4A
The Airflow Development Limited 40B2TX Duplex is a double-inlet centrifugal blower assembly designed and manufactured in England. It pairs two centrifugal scroll housings — one on each side of a shared center motor — to draw air through both inlets and discharge it radially, producing higher airflow volume than a single-inlet design of the same size. The motor is a MagneTek model AB1R6244K wired for dual voltage operation at 120V or 240V AC.

Applications
Duplex centrifugal blowers like the Airflow Development 40B2TX are used in industrial ventilation, HVAC air handling, laboratory fume extraction, cleanroom airflow systems, and equipment cooling applications where a compact, double-inlet design is needed to move relatively high air volumes at moderate static pressures. The 120/240V dual-voltage motor makes the unit adaptable to both North American and European mains without rewinding, which was a common requirement in industrial OEM and laboratory equipment installations. Airflow Development Limited has a long history of supplying centrifugal fans and blowers for scientific, industrial, and commercial applications from their Buckinghamshire, England facility. This style of squirrel-cage centrifugal blower was — and continues to be — a workhorse in equipment cabinets, ovens, environmental chambers, and air handling units where reliable, continuous airflow is needed in a compact footprint.
This Airflow Development Limited 40B2TX Duplex centrifugal blower fan has been pulled from a working environment and is being offered as used surplus. The blue-painted steel housing is in fair used shape with normal scuffs and handling marks consistent with industrial service. Both centrifugal impellers and the interior of the scroll housings show heavy dust and soot accumulation from prior use — the unit would benefit from cleaning before reuse. The multi-wire motor lead is intact. The blower has not been powered or tested at our facility.
