Applications
The ADE MicroSense series of tolerance gauging instruments was developed for precision dimensional measurement in semiconductor wafer fabrication, flat panel substrate inspection, and general industrial metrology. ADE Technologies (later acquired by KLA-Tencor) was a well-regarded manufacturer of non-contact capacitance and eddy-current gauging systems widely used in cleanroom and semiconductor production environments from the 1980s through the 2000s. The MicroSense 3016 is representative of that era's bench-style eddy-current gauging instruments, used to verify part dimensions fall within specified positive and negative tolerance bands — a common requirement in high-precision machining, disk drive component inspection, and thin-film process control. These instruments are still sought by labs and machine shops needing reliable analog tolerance gauging for legacy processes or educational metrology setups.
This ADE MicroSense 3016 Tolerance Measurement Unit has been inspected and is in good used condition. The analog meter face, front panel controls (+ Tolerance, - Tolerance, Set Reading, Range, and Set Tol), and rear connector ports all appear intact and undamaged. The unit shows typical cosmetic wear consistent with previous bench use, including some light discoloration visible near the front panel controls.
