Description
Acculogic sIDE-4/VL VLB VESA Local Bus IDE Floppy Controller Card 130-00419-00
The Acculogic sIDE-4/VL is a full-length VESA Local Bus (VLB) combination controller card providing VESA Local Bus IDE, ISA IDE, floppy drive, parallel port, and serial port interfaces on a single expansion card. Designed for 486 and early Pentium-class desktop PCs equipped with a VESA Local Bus slot, it allows the system to connect IDE hard drives via the high-bandwidth VLB interface while also supporting floppy drives and standard I/O. No manual or documentation is included.

Applications
The VESA Local Bus (VLB) standard emerged in the early 1990s as a high-bandwidth slot extension for 486-class PCs, running the expansion bus at or near the CPU's local bus speed — significantly faster than ISA for storage and video peripherals. Combination VLB controller cards like the sIDE-4/VL were a popular solution for system builders who wanted to maximize disk throughput on a 486 platform while keeping floppy, serial, and parallel I/O on the same card. VLB was quickly superseded by PCI by the mid-1990s, so cards of this type are associated with the 1992–1995 era of 486 and early Pentium systems. Today they are used primarily for maintaining, restoring, or upgrading legacy 486 VLB systems and vintage PC builds.
This Acculogic sIDE-4/VL VLB VESA IDE Floppy Drive Controller Card has been tested at our facility — we used the floppy port to successfully boot a start disk and confirmed it is in working condition. No manual or documentation is included with this card. The PCB shows normal handling wear consistent with previous use; components and connectors appear intact with no obvious damage.
