Applications
The Abbott Spectrum is a family of automated clinical chemistry analyzers used in hospital and reference laboratory settings for high-throughput measurement of serum and plasma analytes — including metabolic panels, liver function tests, lipid panels, and other routine chemistry tests. The source lamp is a critical consumable in the analyzer's optical detection system: it provides the light that passes through reagent-sample mixtures, and photometric detectors measure absorbance to calculate analyte concentrations. Replacement lamps are required periodically as part of routine preventive maintenance to maintain measurement accuracy and optimal optical performance.
