Applications
The 3M Easi-Air valve system is the inhalation and exhalation mechanism at the core of 3M's 7800S full facepiece respirator. Inhalation valves (7282) open on the user's inward breath to allow filtered air into the facepiece, then seat shut on exhalation to direct exhaled air through the exhalation valve (7283), which vents it out of the mask. Replacing these valves is a routine part of 7800S respirator maintenance — a damaged or worn valve can compromise the facepiece seal and reduce respiratory protection. These valves are used in industrial, laboratory, and hazardous-material environments where the 7800S facepiece is worn with 3M cartridge or filter combinations for protection against gases, vapors, particulates, or combination hazards. They are also stocked by safety departments, emergency response teams, and military/government users, as indicated by the assigned National Stock Numbers (NSNs).
